Congratulations to the Foundation's College Scholarship Winner

We were pleased to award a $1,000 scholarship to a student who graduated from Bridgewater College in May, 2017. Nicholas Zimmerman stated in his application: "It is almost my time to give back to all those individuals who have given so much to me. I want to not just be a Family & Consumer Sciences teacher who goes through the motions, but one who is an active FCCLA adviser, state officer adviser, board member, STAR Events Management team member, and whatever else Virginia FCCLA decides I can do and be to give back to an organization and profession that has changed my life."

Why should you support the Leadership Foundation?
Testimonials from some of our supporters...

FCCLA is an investment in our future! These young leaders will pave the way for success. Janet R. - Staunton, VA

No real testimony here but I like to be able to support friends and customers and their kids in their endeavors when I can.  As you can imagine I get several hundred solicitations over the course of a year. When your state officer was willing to put on a coat and tie, come to my office and give me an organized presentation of what he and his organization do that goes a long way particularly when most of the solicitations I get come from parents who are doing the work for the kids.  When the student is involved to the degree and knowledgeable about his organization as your officer was, it made giving a donation very easy. John D. - Glen Allen, VA

When you support FCCLA, you’re putting the future in good hands.
Marisa M. - Virginia Beach, VA

Young people are the future of our country.  I want young individuals and our future citizens to know what it takes to have a strong family, how to live independently, how to build good relationships with others, how to be a wise consumer, and how to spend and save their earnings wisely.  The FCCLA Foundation provides support to both students and Family and Consumer Science teachers.  The board is a conduit for supporting and encouraging activities whereby students can learn many of the skills mentioned above.  I am proud to support a Foundation which can do so much good for students, FACS teachers and, in the end, our country.
Sandy J. - Clifton, VA
